D-Link Canada Inc. ("D-Link") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy (the “Privacy Policy”) explains D-Link's online and telephone information management practices, including how D-Link collects, uses and discloses information collected online and by telephone. 3. What Information Is Collected?
The information that D-Link collects from you can be broadly grouped into the following two categories:

General Non-Specific & Demographic Information (Non Personal Information)
Any non-personal information either voluntarily provided by you or recorded as part of your use of the Web Site, including any transaction conducted on the Web Site, is considered to be General Non-Specific & Demographic Information. 7. Security Features to Ensure your Privacy
In order to guard against unwarranted loss, use and alteration of your personal information, D-Link maintains a number of different security measures. For instance, we use an internationally recognized third party merchant account company, Bambora, to process all of your online transactions. In addition, data sent through the "Secure Checkout" pages on shop.dlink.ca are encrypted using Secure Socket Layer technology, supplied by GoDaddy.
8. Use of Cookies
"Cookies" are text files that are created by websites and stored on your computer’s hard drive. Cookies do not contain personally identifiable information. These files assist a website in recognizing a user’s preferences which may have been set by the user while on the Web Site, such as shopping cart preferences, usernames and passwords, etc. In order to purchase an item from the Web Site, cookies must be enabled on the user’s web browser.
D-Link uses cookies on the Web Site. A cookie created by the Web Site cannot be recognized or viewed by another website, thus ensuring privacy on the customer’s part. There is no way for a cookie to view or store any information from your hard drive, capture your email address, or pass on a computer virus.

The Web Site may contain links to third-party websites. D-Link has no control over such third-party websites. By clicking on a link, you agree that D-Link is not responsible for the privacy practices of such third-party websites and that it is your responsibility to be aware of and comply with such privacy policies.
10. Retention of Information
We will retain your personal information only as long as it is required for the reasons it was collected.
11. Access to Personal Information
At your written request, D-Link will: (a) provide reasonable access to your personally identifiable information that is in D-Link's records for a small administrative fee; and (b) use reasonable efforts to allow you to update or correct personally identifiable information which you state as incorrect to the extent that such information has been maintained by D-Link and if so, that such updating or correction will not compromise D-Link's privacy or security interest. You acknowledge that it may be impossible to completely delete all of your information from D-Link's records without some residual information being maintained due to backups or other reasons.
12. Changes to the Privacy Policy
As our information management practices change, D-Link reserves the right to update the Privacy Policy as required.
If D-Link decides to amend the Privacy Policy, D-Link will post the amended terms on the Web Site so that you will always know what information D-Link gathers, how D-Link might use that information, and whether D-Link will disclose it to anyone. Posting of amended terms shall constitute notice to you. All amended terms shall be effective immediately upon such notice.
